There are many things you should do every day, however, I don’t want to focus on the obvious and conventional list.
These 12 things will change your life! Not only will this list benefit your mental health but it will improve relationships and your overall productivity.
Let’s dive into this quick read on things you should do every day to transform your life!

12 Simple Things You Should Do Every Day
1. Spend time with God
Obviously, this has to be first on the list.
Make sure to spend time with God every day. The more you grow in a relationship with Him, the more content and at peace your life will be. He will give you the strength to overcome every obstacle your day may hold.
2. Say “I love you” to family and friends
How often do you say those three incredibly powerful words?
You don’t know how long your loved ones will be with you. Make the most of the time you have. A day does not go by where I don’t tell my husband and parents that I love them. Well, my husband and I exchange those words at least 5 times a day ♥.
3. Brighten someone’s day
I make it my side quest to brighten someone’s day whenever I leave the house. I will compliment the cashier’s makeup, greet the car guard with a smile, etc.
You never know the ripple effect kindness can have on the world.
4. Compliment yourself
We covered your external relationships, so now it’s time to show yourself some kindness.
Compliment yourself at least once a day. It will boost your self-esteem, counteract negative self-talk, and improve your overall well-being.
5. Practice gratitude
Take a journal and write down three things you are grateful for today. It only takes three minutes.
Practicing gratitude will help you focus on what you have instead of what you lack.
I don’t know about you, but if I don’t plan my day, I feel like the chicken from Moana. Planning leads to a smoother day. When you know what needs to be done you will accomplish more.
I’ve said it a 100 times and will say it a 1000 more. Your vision board should be visible.
I have mine as my desktop and phone background. Kinda makes it hard to miss. Why should you see your vision board daily?
It will motivate you to keep going
Remind you of your “why”
Boost your productivity
And it’s aesthetic 🙂
9. Get dressed
Yeah, yeah, I know I said I wouldn’t include the basic things in this list. But hear me out…
I can guarantee you, that you will have a more productive day if you get dressed in the morning. It sets the tone, tbh. I am not saying style your hair and go full glam on your makeup. Heck, I don’t do that. I simply change out of my pj’s (the slippers stay on though), throw in a claw clip, and do my skincare routine.
10. Make your bed
Making your bed is in the same vein as getting dressed.
It’s the first productive task of the day. I rarely made my bed (well done for exposing yourself, Steph). However, now I never skip a day. It’s part of my morning routine and sets the tone for the rest of my day.
11. Touch some grass
Go outside.
It is unhealthy to spend your entire day indoors. Get some fresh air, listen to the birds chirping, and embrace the beauty around you. In the summertime, we always have coffee (or wine) outside at 17:00 every day i.e. 5 pm – we use military time in South Africa.
12. Pet your dogs
Among the things you should do every day, this one might be a little specific. But I had to add it as a bonus.
Petting animals are such a dopamine boost for me! What better way to end my day than cuddling my fur babies? (Even when they wake me three times a night – yes, I was not impressed).
Are you ready to transform your life? Improve your relationships with others and yourself, spread kindness, optimize your day by planning, and experience all that life has to offer.
